A Poet Reads

For someone who can’t write poetry to save their life, there’s nothing like hearing a poet reading their own work and so I’m delighted that this afternoon I’m off to hear Joy Winkler reading from Stolen Rowan Berries, her latest collection of poems.

In it she reflects on events and friends and family using flowers and links to nature. It’s thoughtful, funny and poignant poetry, well presented, and beautifully illustrated by talented Karen Rossart.

I’ve already read the poems having bought the book a while ago so hearing Joy read is going to be a special treat. But I shall buy a second copy with someone special in mind.
