Peace not War

For all the obvious reasons a lot of care had gone into the design and equipping of the international space station. After all, having Americans and Chinese share such a small space for so long meant the potential for tension could be high.

Overall the makers had got it right, what with superb living quarters, Pilates room, billiard table, and jacuzzi. The kitchen had all the latest gear: microwave, eye-level oven, six-slice toaster, and juice maker.

The only accessory that didn’t function well was the pasta/noodle maker.

Fortunately that was an Italian brand so fisticuffs were avoided.

It’s always good to have a third party both sides are happy to use as a scapegoat.

  2. Past maker! Whoa… that is a truly unique take on the prompt. Nice, Patrick!

  3. Dear Patrick,

Interesting and unique take on the prompt. Many have seen the melting wax as cake icing, but you’re the first dysfunctional pasta machine. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Good one.

Another burst of laughter at the end of this story! I hope there’s no Italian pasta-machine makers reading ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Nice take on the prompt. Amusing!

Excellent – a really funny take on the photo.

Way to take the prompt into science fiction. Nice job!

  9. What a light hearted take on the prompt. You brought a smile into my room. Plus fisticuffs is one of my favorite words.

A unique take on the prompt! I love the way you write… matter-of-fact with a good dose of humour.

  11. Patrick, I take it this is in the future and they’ve overcome the gravity problem. Either that or I haven’t been keeping up with the latest developments. I can just imagine the mess drifting pasta would make. Funny story and well done. XD

  12. A very unexpected expansion on the prompt! The last thing those astronauts need is a fight over pasta!

  13. That’s a strong, lasting and fun image of life on the space station ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. What? No upscale coffee machine? And I hope they stocked plenty of tea. i thought everything was made in China anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Failed pasta.. Ha love that.. Good that a space disaster could be avoided by blaming a third party.

  16. Sandra says:

And I never saw more unappealing pasta/noodle in my life! ๐Ÿ™‚

I'd love to read what you think ...
